Encore’s selling process is simple!  We can look at your items, pre-approve them,
schedule pick up, price and display your pieces.  We then issue you a check for half
the net proceeds when your item sells.  You don’t ever have to leave home if you
don’t want to!   Most of our consignment furniture sells in 30 to 45 days.  

Our computerized consignment system keeps track of your items by issuing a unique
consignor number to you.  Each piece then receives a unique, bar coded inventory
number and price tag.  Sales are uploaded daily to our website where you can track
what has sold, what is still available, current prices and see when your consignment
period ends.  You can monitor everything from the comfort of your home!

Here’s how it works:  

1.   Pre-Approval

  • We accept consignment items based on condition, seasonality, demand, and current
    inventory.  We must see all items before they are accepted.  Digital photos are preferred.  
    Regular photos can be mailed or brought to the store. Be sure to note any flaws or
    "character" marks!  If you have several pieces, please call and we can set up a time to see
    the items in your home.  Photos can be emailed to encorecolorado@yahoo.com.
  • Generally, we accept items that are clean, odor free, with no stains, tears, broken parts,
    scratches or excessive wear/fading.  Upholstery items are not accepted if there are (or
    have been) any cats or smokers in the home.  We cannot accept items that need to be
    refinished or reupholstered, although we can perform minor touchups to your pieces to
    help them sell.  Please make sure your items meet our acceptance requirements.  
  • You can bring in your items without pre-approval, however, keep in mind that if we are not
    able to consign them, you'll have to take the items back with you .  An appointment is
    advised so we can dedicate the proper amount of uninterrupted time with you.  

2.    Delivery to Our Store   

  • You may bring in your pre-approved items during normal business hours.  We recommend
    that you call and let us know when your pieces are coming in so we can make room.  
  • Each item as it comes in the door is tagged with your unique consignor number.
  • Pickup is available for an additional fee.  We have partnered with several pick-up services
    and are more than happy to recommend the best, cost effective solution for your needs.  
    Fees vary depending on the number of items, location and other specifics of the job.  

3.   We Price & Sell It

  • Our pricing specialist will carefully inspect your items, and establish store pricing with
    consideration given to condition, quality, manufacturer, original purchase price, style,
    demand, as well as previous sales of similar items.  
  • Your item is entered into our computerized inventory system and issued a barcoded tag
    with the pricing, consignor number, and inventory number.  
  • Our staff prepares your pieces for sale and and displays them on the showroom floor.  
    Select pieces are photographed and offered for sale online via eBay, our own internet
    store, or other online sale sites.
  • Our knowledgeable staff sells your item and arranges for delivery to the new owner if
    needed.  The sale is recorded and your account is credited immediately.  Sales are
    uploaded nightly to the internet where you can view sold and available items, current
    prices, your account balance and each item's consignment period end date..
  • The consignment period is for 90 days.  Most items sell in 30 to 45 days or less.  All items
    are discounted up to 20% after 30 days and as much as 40% after 60 days.

4.   You Deposit Your Check!

  • We share the net proceeds with you 50/50.  Checks over $25.00 are issued on the 15th of
    the month for the previous month's sales.  You can come and pickup your check, or we'll
    mail it the next business day.
  • Some of our consignors prefer to have us establish and maintain a store credit account
    with their proceeds.  Store credit is available to use for purchases immediately after your
    item's sale is final.  
  • Encore! collects and reports all required sales taxes.
